A murderer in a past life, Rand is haunted by dreams of blood and death. His psyche was shattered, and a split personality arose to defend him from the psychological pains of Marrach. His 'Other', known as Walker, eventually killed himself off and reintegrated with Rand after he realized he was harming more than helping.
